We’ve got some exciting news for the Sydney geo community. For the first time, GeoRabble is heading west to Parramatta!
And we couldn’t think of a better day to do it.
We’ll be getting the rabble together on Wednesday, 18 November, GIS Day 2026, for another evening celebrating the people, ideas and stories that make our geo community what it is.
This time we’re taking over the General Bourke at 74 Church St, Parramatta, for an evening of short talks, interesting ideas, good conversations and, of course, a few drinks with Sydney’s geo community.
First time in Parramatta
GeoRabble has always been about bringing the spatial community together. People from government, industry, consulting, academia and everywhere in between, sharing what they’re working on, what they’ve learned and occasionally what went spectacularly wrong.
Taking GeoRabble to Parramatta gives us an opportunity to bring that community to a new part of Sydney and hopefully meet plenty of new faces along the way.
Whether you’re a GIS professional, surveyor, developer, cartographer, data person, researcher, student or someone who simply thinks maps are pretty cool, you’re part of the rabble.
Have a geo story? We want to hear it.
A GeoRabble isn’t much of a rabble without people willing to get up and tell a story.
So we’re putting the call out for speakers.
You don’t need a polished conference presentation or a corporate slide deck. In fact, we’d rather you didn’t have one.
We’re interested in geo stories of all kinds. Something you’ve built. Something you’ve discovered. A project that went brilliantly. One that didn’t. An unusual dataset. A great map. GeoAI experiments. Drones. Surveying. Open data. Spatial analysis. Weird geography. Or an idea that simply made you look at the world differently.
If it’s geo-related and you’ve got a story worth sharing, we’d love to hear it.
Send your idea to info@georabble.org.
Thanks to GIS Jobs
We’re delighted to have GIS Jobs sponsoring GeoRabble Parramatta and supporting the local geospatial community.
Sponsors play an important role in helping GeoRabble remain accessible, informal and community-focused, covering the things that make these nights possible while letting the rabble get on with what it does best: sharing stories, meeting people and talking geo.
We’re also looking for additional sponsors to join GIS Jobs in supporting our first Parramatta event.
If your organisation would like to get behind the local geo community and help us put on a great night, contact info@georabble.org.
